Saw a shooting star while hanging out in the hot tub. Helps to put things in perspective a bit.
There is a couple of minutes during every walk where Solstice's ears start flopping in rhythm to her gait. I love watching that.
And incidence arose from circumstance...
The best thing about TiVO is that I can listen to Cartman sing Heat of the Moment in front of the US Congress over and over...
Do you remember your first flight? Where did you go? Why?
Submitted by Laurel.
My first flight was to Acapulco, Mexico when I was about 10. We went for a family vacation-- we took one every year, but we usually drove to somepalce in the US. I remember being excited by the flight and being amazed by seeing the tops of clouds out the window of the plane.
I also remember swimming in the ocean and shopping for blankets and ponchos in the Mexican market. One afternoon my parents hired a babysitter for us through the hotel that didn't speak English, and my sister and I had fun hanging out with her. There are pictures of Stacy and I wearing matching outfits consisting of white shorts and a shirts with red, white and blue sailboats on the front, complete with real rope embellishments. Nice.
I am hating Interllectual right now. The current design keeps breaking in little ways that probably only I would ever notice, but they drive me nuts. It also seems a little schizo-- tying to do to much with the animals and the drinks. And I'm not loving the refresh of the design I did enough to take the time to actually make it live.
The idea of redesigning it is also overwhelming. I need to focus. I need to stop looking at it and start writing down some goals for what i want it to be so I can do something with it.
Got the shirt to match the skirt I got this weekend, so now I actually have a nice outfit that fits.
Just updated my sites to the latest versions, which is always a gamble-- will all the plugins still work? Seems to have gone as smoothly as possible, knock on wood.
So, how come people are spending money buying Dreamweaver when Frontpage comes with Office, which we all have, and is already paid for?
- A. Ok, you may leave now. No, really. You don't belong here.
- B. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha! Good one! Oh. You were serious.
- C. [diplomatic look] Well, this decision is made by departments and they use what they are comfortable with, but Frontpage isn't the software I would recommend in terms of dealing with web accessibility and using the most up-to-date technology....
How the hell was I able to pull that off without offending anyone? Sometimes I amaze myself with my ability to survive at my job...
Over 70 (!) people showed up to my Web Council meeting. Everyone said it went well-- I can never tell how I did with any public speaking. I think I hate doing it so much that it overshadows any rational assessment I can make. But now I am done until next semester at least...
Finally, some Vox themes that I really dig, and that I feel represent me. Now, the question is toucan or chickadee?
This is a much better dilemma than how the hell I'm lgoing to get through my presentation tomorrow, which is what I have spent the rest of the evening thinking about.
