I got a kick-ass Flickr integration plugin to work in Textpattern, which I thought was gooing to be a no go on our ancient work server. Now Brian can have cool galleries on his museum site, which is turning out much better than I anticipated.
So, how come people are spending money buying Dreamweaver when Frontpage comes with Office, which we all have, and is already paid for?
- A. Ok, you may leave now. No, really. You don't belong here.
- B. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha! Good one! Oh. You were serious.
- C. [diplomatic look] Well, this decision is made by departments and they use what they are comfortable with, but Frontpage isn't the software I would recommend in terms of dealing with web accessibility and using the most up-to-date technology....
How the hell was I able to pull that off without offending anyone? Sometimes I amaze myself with my ability to survive at my job...
I whipped out a site for work in the past two days, and this afternoon when I browser tested it, it didn't need any hacking at all. It worked in IE 5, 5.5, 6, and 7, and looked almost the same as it did in the real browsers. Good feeling.
